Cool Tools that Google has to Offer:
1. Google Calendar: I used Google Calendar to help manage my time and events. I can put in my work schedule, my school schedule, when assignments are due, birthdays, anniversary's, and other holidays so that I do not miss a beat! As a teacher I can create a calendar designed specifically for my students. Since it can be shared, they will always be up to date on what is going to happen each day at school. With this tool, there would be no confusion on test dates, due dates on papers, library days, sack lunch days, field trips, homework assignments, and so much more! Students could simply look at the calendar and see every detail the teacher has posted in relation to their school work.
2.Google Scholar: I wish I had known about Google Scholar in my undergraduate years. I took a few classes that required scholarly reviews. It was very difficult to find scholarly reviews on a specific subject. With Google Scholar, all you have to do is enter in the content you wish to find in the search box and there you are! All of these articles are legitimate and written by knowledgeable authors. This is a good tool to use in classes because students will know the information they are receiving through the search engine is legitimate and true, as opposed to just searching through google or any other search engine. Students could use this site to do research for papers or projects, or in my case, a scholarly review!
I really thought Google Notebook would be a great sharing tool, but apparently they are no longer creating new notebooks. You can't even update an old notebook you previously had.
