I really enjoyed this "thing", a little too much I think. I never knew there were so many free web tools available. I love photography, so being able to edit and do fun things to pictures is great and the fact that they're free is even better! Here are some of the things I have done. I hope you enjoy...
I used a website called, bighugelabs.com to create the picture above. It is a fun and creative way to add a personal touch to a picture. It is simple and best of all free!

This by far is probably one of my favorite ideas for a classroom. I want to teach lower elementary and I know they would get a kick out of making their own magazine! By using Magazine Cover students can create their very own magazine cover. The site lets you add your own photo, your magazine cover layout, the color and font of the text, the name of the magazine, how much it cost, your lead stories and other information that may be in the magazine. It also ask for a publishing date, which is great for parents to keep as a keepsake. Not only are students getting the chance to be creative, they can also have the opportunity to use their newly learned writing skills to come up with stories for their magazine. There are examples of these in the cover to the above.

I used Spell With Flirckr to create my name, which is shown above. This application uses pictures of letters on flickr and puts them together to make a word or phrase. I thought it was really neat and very simple. It reminds me of when I was younger and I used to cut letters out of magazines to decorate school folders and pictures in my room. This is much quicker and easier. I really like that if you don't like the letters they have picked out for you, you can simply click on it, and it will provide you with a different one. You can keep clicking until you find the one you want. This would be a good application to use in school projects such as a science project or even a school newspaper. It just gives a fresher feel to what would otherwise be a plain heading or label!
This is an application I used on Flickr that allows you to upload pictures taken across the state, nation, and even the world and map them. I think this is a really neat way to keep track of all the places you have visited, what you did there, and when you went. The only thing I did not like about this was that in order to map it, you had to know the longitude and latitude of that specific city. Although it wasn't that big of a deal to look it up, I think it would be a great improvement to be able to type in the city and the site map the longitude and latitude itself! :o) (just click the hyperlink above)
