Fun & Useful Blogs:
I found that Google Blog search was the easiest to use. It is set up just like google.com and who isn't a pro at that? I liked that it had a simple search box or you could choose from topics listed on the left of the page. In order to find feeds on each site, I looked for sections of the site that mentioned facebook or twitter. The RSS links were usually right near by. Many of the sites used the orange curved lines that bloglines uses.
I found that feedster.com would actually not pull up. I then used my resources and google'd "feedster". A article with the title "Feedster Quietly Dies... So Which Blog Search Engine Do You Use?". So since this site apparently does not exists anymore, I found it impossible to navigate through! Topix.net was just very cluttered. There were charts, polls, advertisements, and debates. Somewhere in all that was a list of top stories, but there was just too much clutter surrounding them. The site is just visually unappealing.
I found a lot of useful feeds using Google Blog search.
1. Swine flu- vaccine approved
2. entertainment info (death of Patrick Swayze and the Kanye debacle)
3. weather updates (it has been rather rainy today)
4. Terrorist found in NY
5. TheKnot.com news feed (one of my favorite sites)
I found an article under politics about Kanye West's behavior on the MTV Video Awards Show that aired 9/14/2009. Nightline co-anchor Terry Moran 'tweeted' that President Obama said that West's behavior was that of a "Jack@$$". WHO KNEW?!
And apparently our economy is in recovery, at least according to Ben Bernanke. I have not see the effects of that yet. I wait tables and my tips have still been declining!
And most unusual, a Johns Hopkins student killed a man with a samurai sword.
To locate other news feeds, I used google. I use google for everything so there is no surprise there. I also went to websites that I always visit and looked to see if they had RSS on their sites. Surprisingly, most all of them did!
